Hola! My name is Skylar Thomas and I'm from Fairfax, Virginia. I grew up playing sports, enjoying the outdoors, and learning to cook and bake with my family. I left my home state for college and I moved halfway across the country to Iowa! In Iowa, I attended Grinnell College and studied economics and political science.
I also spent two years in college learning Spanish, a language that I began to study when I was in elementary school. I spent the summer of 2024 living in Granada, Spain, and I fell in love with the sights and sounds of the country. After graduating college, I was lucky enough to receive a Fulbright grant to teach English in Oviedo, Spain.
Here, I spend my days leading games and activities to help my students practice speaking English! When I am not in class, I like to try new coffee shops, hike in the beautiful mountains of Asturias, and travel across cities in Spain. I cannot wait to show you my journey!
