My personal favorite thing about food in Japan is how creative it can be. For example, there are cafes and restaurants themed around popular characters such as Hello Kitty. Many bakeries and dessert shops will theme pastries and desserts around cute designs. Not only are these treats delicious, but by being designed in this way, they also make the process of eating more fun!
