The weather this week was dry and sunny in Santiago. It rained just a bit this weekend, both in Valparaíso (where I was) and in Santiago, so now it's a bit colder. It's almost always colder after the rain!
While scuba diving in Pichidangui, I saw penguins, lots of seabirds, jellies, and plenty of fish! There were also a lot of friendly stray dogs this weekend in Valparaíso ("Valpo").
While diving, I saw lots of sea anemones, sponges, some sea urchins, and plenty of fish. Some of the fish hide in the rocks, while others swim in big, silvery schools around the deeper water and the kelp.
There was one special fish with golden scales that our guide showed us. The golden fish is special because other fish of its species are brown, but this fish is lacking some of the normal pigment (color) in its scales, making it appear bright gold underwater.
