As my time in France is coming to an end, I really can not believe how quickly this semester went by!
I noticed the other day when I stepped outside my apartment building to walk to class that I could see my breath in the cold, which made me think about how I have now experienced three seasons in the South of France -- summer, fall, and winter. When I first arrived, it was very hot, here, and I had to adjust to living without air conditioning, but now it is chilly, and I spend my days inside cafes drinking hot chocolate all wrapped up while working on my schoolwork. I feel that I have been able to live in the moment and enjoy my time in France, although it did feel like it went by much faster than a normal semester of college.
Some of my favorite parts of living in Aix-en-Provence have been my lovely host family, the cafes and markets and the ease of travelling to other parts of France and the rest of Europe. My host parents have been one of the best parts of the whole experience because they have made me feel welcome, shown me around different parts of the South of France and helped me practice my French! When I not at home or in class, I have almost always been at one of the many local cafes in Aix-en-Provence enjoying a latte or a hot chocolate.
