I interviewed my good friend Ditte (pronounced Dee-TA) who works in the research lab with me. She spent last fall in South Australia studying humpback whales by using drones. She is Danish, but she has traveled all over the world, and she has even lived in Greenland for a bit. She loves to winter bathe, which we talked about last week. She also loves to ride her bike, which as you know is very popular here in Denmark.

"I live in a shared house with nine other people. We own the house and therefore have to do all repairing and maintenance on our own. When moving in, you buy a share in the house that you then sell when moving out. It’s a very social way of life, as we eat together five times a week and have working days/weekends, trips out of the house, parties and meetings."
"My family is awesome! In terms of structure, my parents live in an eco-village half an hour away from the city I study in. My elder sister just graduated with her Master's degree in anthropology and my little sister just graduated high school. They're now saving money to travel on the Trans-Mongolian railway."
