This week, I stayed in Marburg. It takes about half an hour with walking and the bus to get to the center of the city, where I work and study, from where I live.
So far, I have traveled to many places in Germany and I also visited my friend who lives in Switzerland. Switzerland is a country south of Germany and it has many mountains. They are known for their chocolate and cheese. In Germany, I have traveled to the capital of Berlin, as well as the cities of Frankfurt, Kassel, and Heidelberg. I have taken the train to all of these different places.
I take the bus when I am in Marburg and the weather is rainy. The city has a very large bus system and there is an app that tells you when and where you have to be to get to your destination. I have learned to really enjoy public transportation! It is very different from home where we need a car to get around.
This week I visited the old university building, or Alte Universität, which is hundreds of years old. The building was originally a Catholic monastery, but became the original university when Germany converted to Protestantism. Many people say that it seems like Hogwarts!
