Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week, I traveled quite far, 79 miles to the Bohemia Swizterland National Park, and then 85 miles to the spa town of Karlovy Vary. For both trips, I had to take a series of buses, trams, and trains, but the beautiful fall foliage made the time pass quickly.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

So far on my journey, I have traveled to Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Austria. In total, that is 2,200 miles traveling there and back! Besided internationally, I have been enjoying taking many smaller trips during the week to villages and towns inside the Czech Republic.

How did I get around this week?:

This week, instead of walking, since it's been so chilly, I have been taking the metro and tram more frequently to get around Prague.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place I visited this week was the Imperial Spa in the town of Karlovy Vary. The town was established in the 14th-century when Emperor Charles IV discovered its thermal springs, which supposedly cured his broken leg. The Spa is quite famous in the Czech Republic, and has been visited by a long list of European royalty, composers, celebrities, and even the president!
