I traveled 4.5 hours each way by bus this week to Musanze town to see the gorillas. It takes two buses to go from my house in the east to the northern regions.
I completed that jouney in two days. I went on a Saturday morning and returned on Sunday evening.
Once or twice a week, I use the public buses to go to the large market since they are very reliable and affordable. I walk everywhere else, including to school, a small store with some vegetables, and back to my house. I have everything that I really need within a 20-minute walking distance.
I visited a town called Musanze this week, and I loved it! My house is in a more flat part of the country, but that town is surrounded by mountains and volcanoes. It was also colder there which was a nice change from the hot 80 degree days.
I'm planning to travel to my regional town to get my nails painted soon! I love going once in a while because getting my nails done is something I used to do often in America. It's a nice way to practice self-care and take a break from the village.
