I definitely won't be saying that when I'm back in Los Angeles traffic!
Definitely the Dolomites. The temperatures were surprisingly chilly for this time of year, and staying high up in the mountains was completely different from anything I'm used to.
Water was limited at the rifugi, so we had to buy bottles of drinking water, and, more importantly, there were no showers.
Coming from someone who really, really likes feeling clean, this was probably my biggest challenge of the entire hike. My worst fear is smelling bad, so you can imagine how I felt after hiking for hours every day with no shower in sight. Luckily, everyone else was hiking several miles a day too, so at least we were all in it together!
This week made me realize how crazy it is that you can experience completely different places so close together in Europe. Within just a few days, I went from bundling up in layers and hiking through the mountains to slipping into a swimsuit and snorkeling in Malta.
I'm exhausted, my laundry pile is terrifying and I desperately need to catch up on sleep, but I would do it all again!
