Hello everybody! My name is Trey! I am from St. Louis, Missouri, and I am 25 years old. When I lived in St. Louis, I went to many baseball games with my family. Also, I liked going to the St. Louis Zoo to see the elephants and the zebras. After high school, I went to college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. In college, I studied science and mathematics. I also learned about other countries in the world! After I graduated from college, I wanted to travel to other countries, so I joined the United States Peace Corps. The Peace Corps is an organization that sends Americans to other countries in order to help other people around the world. I am serving as a math and science teacher in Ghana.
Ghana is a country in West Africa. It is a beautiful country, and many people live here, but it is very far from America. I teach middle school students in a rural community here. My students like to play soccer, and they like to go to their farms. Although they do not have as many books or toys as most American children, my students are very happy, and they love to learn. In my free time, I like to read books, play basketball, and call my family back home. Even though I am far from home, I am happy because I am able to help my students here. I am excited to meet you and tell you more about myself!
Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
