Trying Barbecue in Lesotho: Braai

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Farming is a big part of Basotho culture, and a lot of the local food derives from home-grown produce and livestock. Maize is the most dominant crop grown in Lesotho, and because of that papa has become a staple food in Basotho culture. People commonly eat it with cooked leafy greens (moroho) and meat. Where I live in Lesotho, we do not have electricity, which means refrigerators are rare. People don’t always eat meat in their diet, and it is oftentimes saved for special occasions. However, because of this, the meat in Lesotho is always extremely fresh.
