In German, there are many ways to say goodbye, but my favorite options are the ones that leave open the possibility of seeing each other in the future. Bis später, for instance, means “see you later,” and Auf Wiedersehen technically translates to, “until we see/meet again.”
It has been great to speak with you all over the past few weeks. I enjoyed hearing your questions and ideas, as well as learning more about your class and how you became interested in health care and science!
The COVID-19 pandemic showed how scientists across the world could use their different skillsets to develop vaccines and research potential medications to combat this disease, but research collaborations are always present as scientists work to answer other biochemical and medical questions. There is much hope for the scientific advancement that can be achieved when people work together and pursue the fields they are interested in. It’s exciting to know that you can have an impact in whichever field you go into, as well!
