Traveler Bio

Hello! My name is Victoria Choo.

I am from a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. My favorite activities to do at home are swimming at the beach and going for hikes in the state park near my house! Growing up, I also played softball, ice hockey, and did taekwondo.

I went to college at the University of Chicago, where I studied Global Studies and Political Science. In college, I was an editor for a literary magazine at my school, a member of multiple pre-law organizations, and an avid player of intramural sports. During college, I was also able to study abroad in Istanbul, Turkey, and intern in Kigali, Rwanda!

After graduating, I joined the Peace Corps! I currently live in Việt Nam, where I teach English at a high school in the Hà Nội province. Outside of teaching, I enjoy taking Vovinam classes (the martial arts of Việt Nam), and playing ping pong with children in my community! I am so excited to share my journey with all of you! Please send me any questions-- I would love to hear from you all!

Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
