Hei! I'm Vivien and I was awarded the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant award, a federal grant that sponsors me to teach in high school and college classrooms, focusing specifically on literacy, linguistics, and sociopolitical civics, for the next ten months.
I have been placed in Bergen, the second largest city in Norway. Fun fact: it is the rainiest city in Europe! Luckily, I love rain. Norway is known for its scenic natural landscape, particularly its fjords (these are inlets of water surrounded by mountains), which I hope I’ll be able to tell you all about.
Hopefully, through my journey, you will enjoy observing a new perspective and thoroughly reflect on the differences and surprising similarities between the US and Norway, both inside and outside of the classroom.
