Cows need to eat a lot of grass, so they rely on the fields near their barns for food.
Cows are well cared for by their farmers but could get sick or get lost if they stray too far from the herd. We saw that some of the cows we passed had bells on their necks and guessed that those cows must be the mischievous ones who wander and that the bells make them easier to find.
