It is kind of hard to comprehend that Wolverine, who is my favorite comic book character, is also someone else’s favorite character. So when I am here in a different country and I get to see my favorite characters, I get really excited. What surprised me the most is China’s love for Captain America. I actually shocked one of my local friends by saying Captain America is not my favorite comic book character.
Shanghai is an international city that has a lot to offer. With that being said, I find that here you can find almost everything that you enjoy— but with a flavor of China. I’ve done things here that I do enjoy very much, and I've also encountered less than comfortable situations. Language barriers and other various obstacles make almost everything I do here a challenge. I do enjoy challenges, though, and I definitely don’t like staying comfortable.
