The oceans are so large and deep that we need technology to learn everything we can about them and to protect them for future generations.
The legendary oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle said, “The greatest era of exploration is still ahead of us.” This means that each and every one of you will be the ones pioneering discoveries in science and technology, and you will be forever changing our understanding of this world on land and under the sea. One day, there will be students following an expedition in their classrooms, but YOU will be on the other side of the video screen talking about your job and your own passion for exploration, just like Holly and her expedition team members did for us.
