Why I'm in Germany

But it is really through the other, irreplaceable experiences that I have come to see the world very differently than before my days of travel.  hrough these rare opportunities I have come to understand many people older than me have said: "Studying abroad broadens the mind."  Why that is true - why that is the case for anyone who stays for long in a culture other than their own - is that most of that broadening doesn't come from classes or research.  Most of that broadening comes from firsthand interactions with the people, the culture and the environment you encounter.

The Fulbright experience so far has been marvelous. I have already presented a research project at a Berlin theater, and I plan to present another soon at a hotel in Lisbon, Portugal. I have dined in a castle at Marburg and celebrated New Year's in Lucerne, Switzerland.  "This is more than I ever expected to travel in my life!" Jenny has told me. And all of this is thanks to Fulbright.
