As of today, I have been living in Wellington for about three months. During that time, I have had many opportunities to recognize different perspectives. The staff of my university helped me adjust to all the changes that came with moving during the pandemic. Due to regulations, I had to spend two weeks in self-isolation shortly after arriving in the country. All food was provided by Victoria University (also known as "Vic"). The director of my accomodation was very generous. She would visit every day and make sure I had all the neccessities. I recognized that the university's main concern was my physical and mental health during the pandemic. Due to the strict lockdown measures, Vic also modified classes to help students that went back home and had limited internet access. The professors provided clear instruction for the homework and lectures for the remaining trimester. I was very relieved and less anxious about transitioning to on-line classes through Zoom.

After a total of six weeks of lockdown, New Zealand is starting to re-open small businesses and retail stores. I see cars on the road and people walking on the streets again.
