Hello! I am a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Ghana since April 2025. I serve as an Agricultural Volunteer in the Eastern Region. In addition to farming, I also teach at the local primary school.

This week was pretty busy because I had to take my cat down to Accra because she had a veterinarian appointment! Accra is about 4 hours from my community and to get there I took a taxi, tro and a van.

Climate Change affects populations across the world in different ways. In Ghana, the country is also experiencing severe weather challenges that can make life especially challenging.

One part of being a volunteer is learning about and experiencing daily life and challenges in your community. There are many activities that you do here that you wouldn't normally do in the US.

This week I was able to go to Cape Coast to visit the castles there and at Elmina. Millions of slaves passed through these castles before making the journey accros the Atlantic Ocean to the Americas.
