Daily Life in Ghana

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I like to play football (soccer) and watch movies or cartoons. My favorite football team is Manchester City and my favorite movies are war films.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak Ewe and English and I like to practice my English as much as possible. In Ewe, we don't say "hello," but instead greet each other by saying "good morning," "good afternoon" or "good evening." To say good morning you say "indi," to say good afternoon you say "indo" and to say good evening you say "fié."

Do you have pets?:

I don't have any dogs or cats, but we do have roosters and hens at the farm. There are also goats and sheep around my community.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I have traveled to Accra to visit my uncle who lives there. I hope to visit the United States in the future.

What do you do for work?:

I help at my family's farm where we grow cassava, plantain and fufu. During the day, I go to school where my favorite subjects are English and Science.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

How do Americans play football (soccer)? What kind of pets do you have? Have you tried fufu before? My favorite food is fufu with light soup and I eat it every Sunday. With the cassava, plantain and peppers we grow on the farm, we have all the key ingredients to make fufu.
