All of the ingredients are locally-sourced ingredients from right here in La Paz. This week, Abby had the chicken soup, the chicken entre and a pineapple dessert. Josh had a Russian-style salad, the pork entre and a piece of cake for dessert. Unfortunately, we are still working to improve our Spanish, so we can’t give you very detailed descriptions of our meal. As you will see from the photo, the menu was only in Spanish and gave very brief descriptions of each item. As a result, we hope the photos will speak for themselves, this meal was truly delicious!
This week, Mino, our volunteer coordinator here at Up Close Bolivia introduced us to Bolivian reggaeton music. This type of music seems to be quite popular amongst younger Bolivians and teenagers.
This week, we had a lot of fun taking a walking tour through the streets of La Paz. Our guide was Max, a local Bolivian. Max was fluent in English, and he was able to teach us so much about the history and culture of this multifaceted city.
This week, we did not have much free time for reading. However, we did spend a lot of time going through our orientation packages for Up Close Bolivia.
Unfortunately, we did not have much time to play games or sports this week either.
Right now, we are sharing "The Green House" at Up Close Bolivia with some other volunteers. Iduun is from Norway, and she's 20. Olivia is from New Zealand, and she is 19. Natalie is 30, and she is from Belgium.
