This week in La Paz, the weather was mostly sunny. Here in the mountains, however, the weather changes very quickly. At night, the temperature can drop by as much as 20 degrees Fahrenheit, and it’s not uncommon for there to be a light breeze.
In the mountains of Bolivia, there are a lot of different bird species. So far, we have seen many different types of hawks and eagles that we don’t typically see in America. We have also seen a lot of dogs here in Bolivia. Many dogs are very shaggy, which helps them keep them warm when the temperatures drop, and seem to be cared for quite well and fed often, even by strangers!
The landscape of La Paz is incredibly mountainous. What is the most spectacular about the mountains here is the level of erosion that can be seen. Wind and weather erosion have created a sort of “extraterrestrial” landscape in the region.
