My Semana Santa in the Huacachina Desert Oasis and the Ballestas Islands

During semana santa (Holy Week), all the Fulbright Scholars living across Peru—in Lima, Cusco, Piura, and Arequipa—reunited in Huacachina, a desert oasis, and took a day trip to the Ballestas Islands.

In addition to arches, there were a lot of natural tunnels.
The Candelabra geoglyph may have been created by the prehistoric Paracas culture, but researchers are still uncertain of its origins, meaning and significance.
