Farewell to Reach the World (but not to Iceland!)

I know that I am passionate about the ocean and want to dedicate my life to helping it and the people whose lives depend on it. I also know that I find great joy in talking to people about their everyday lives and sharing information about my own.

My favorite Icelandic expression is “þetta reddast.” It means that it’s all going to work out in the end. I used to worry that my life wasn’t going in the right direction, and any deviation from my plan was stressful to me, but I’ve taken on the Icelandic mindset of þetta reddast since moving here, and it has made every aspect of my life much more enjoyable. Sometimes the best opportunities arise when you’re not even looking for them! I’ve also learned to really appreciate the small things, especially the beautiful details in nature that so often get overlooked, and this has made me even more thankful to be where I am, doing what I do.

If you have a desire to travel or live in another country, I highly encourage it. But there are also so many ways to interact with other cultures right where you live, and doing that can help inspire you to decide what you want to do with your life and where you want to do it. Thank you for following me on my journey to Iceland! I hope that you get the chance to explore the world and the amazing people who live in it, too!
