I took a weekend trip to Liechtenstein this past week, and that was about 230 miles each way. If we assume I went straight there and back, I went about 460 miles.
I flew about 3,900 miles from Washington DC to Cologne. From there, I rode about 175 miles to Landau. Add all that to my trip to Liechtenstein, and I have traveled about 4,535 miles.
I flew to get to Germany. From the airport, I took a bus to get to orientation. I took the train to get to Landau, and I usually take the train to get to work each day, since it is faster than the bus.
The Burg Trifels was astounding. Apparently Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned there. I cannot remember who Richard the Lionheart is, so I need to go back and read my history.
I might go hiking in the Palatinate Forest if the rain clears up in the next few days.
