How far did I travel this week?:

I traveled to Amsterdam! I had an incredible time exploring the city. The first night I went to the Van Gogh museum and saw some of his famous paintings such as "Sunflowers" and "Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat." The titles of his paintings are very literal. After that, I went to the famous "I Amsterdam" sign.  The next day I biked all around the city! I stopped to visit some tulip stands and cheese stores, which are famously Dutch places. I spent a lot of my time just taking in the culture and sights of city. I would go back in a heartbeat!

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

The farthest I have traveled so far is Poland. This country if much different than the other ones I've seen, both architecturally and culturally. This is mainly because it is the first Eastern European country I have traveled to. Most of the countries in that area were deeply affected by or were part of the Soviet Union and thus developed later than most of Western Europe. Because they developed at a different time their culture and customs are dramatically different than countries like Spain. For example, people come across as more stoic and serious. It was very interesting to see the stark difference between the people and places of Spain and Poland.
