Stray dogs are always wandering around my dorms looking for some food or a friendly pat. Don't be afraid! They don't bite and are just looking for someone to play with.
These dogs are small, fluffy creatures with fur color ranging from a lovely chestnut to pitch black. There are all different breeds here who share some qualities such as having floppy ears, four legs, and lively natures.
When I first noticed them, I was both excited and sad. I was super excited to see dogs in China. But that feeling quickly turned into sadness when I noticed how skinny and dirty they were. No collars meant they had no owner who would lovingly take care of them, and most people passed by these dogs without a second glance.
The dogs live in the university grounds and constantly roam around the campus. Often, I'll find them huddled in the grass near my dorms, peacefully sleeping or tagging along with each other. Sometimes they like to fall asleep on the steps of the nearby convenience store, perhaps so they can secretly breathe in the smell of good food!
