Chinese suburbs

Introduction:

Every day, I leave my home in the suburbs to work in the city center. Since I am a student, I live in the dorms at the university campus next to a beautiful mountain. Today we'll explore this place together!

What makes this environment special or different?:

Sometimes it is hard to tell apart a Chinese city and its suburb. Both have tall tall buildings that are home to many families. But there are three key differences:

1. Wide: There are too many people in a city, so everyone lives in crowded spaces. In the suburbs, there is more space so everything is bigger! The roads are wider, the buildings are bigger, and everything is more spread out!

2. Quiet: Since students are busy studying and families tend to spend time together in their homes, it is quiet in the suburbs. You can hear birds chirping in the morning.

3. Nature: Along the streets are beautiful trees and flowers. Also near my university there is a beautiful mountain where you can pick oranges!

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

In the suburbs, tall buildings (15-20 floors) called apartments are home to many people. Many of these people live in a gated community, meaning that you have to pass through a gate to get inside.
