As I mentioned, it is native to regions like Puebla and Estado de Mexico, which are drier and higher in altitude and although it is not the only place where it is grown, it is most popular in these areas. This corn, as well as corn in general, represents cultural, gastronomic, and economic importance because corn is a staple in everyday meals, in important celebrations, and as a means of survival.

Additionally, corn has not only filled people’s hearts and homes, but also the streets.
