As an English Teaching Assistant my main job is to work with kids! I work with preschool kids all the way up to middle school students. Working with younger students has been wonderful because I gain a different perspective compared to working with adults and peers my age. Kids in Mexico have taught me so much about Mexican culture and lifestyle. I am constantly surprised by their intelligence, humor and kindness.
For this field note, I interviewed different students from two different schools: an elementary school in Atlacomulco, which is a larger town (somtimes considered a city), and a middle school in a very rural town, about an hour away from Atlacomulco. I hope that through the lives of these students you can gain an understanding of Mexico, and realize the impact you can have on each other!
Student 1: middle school (female): I have milk and bread for breakfast, rice and chicken in a green chili sauce for lunch, andpasta with stuffed zucchini for dinner.
Student 1: middle school (female): My house is one story, and it has six bedrooms with one bathroom inside. It is a pretty large home, overall!
