Watching my friends come and go from study abroad reinforced the idea that I wanted to travel after college.
I was determined to travel and experience other cultures. Inspired by my mom (who was also a Peace Corps volunteer), I decided to apply to the Peace Corps. I was accepted and placed in Paraguay! While I was extremely nervous about moving to a country so far away, where I would have to learn two new languages, I was excited. In September of 2023, I packed up my bags and three flights later I was meeting my fellow volunteers and host family.
Since then, I have completed a three-month intensive training program, and moved to my town, Alberdi, where I have been living and working on environmental conservation projects and education
