Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I did not travel that far this week. I did, however, travel to a small town near Oviedo called Trubia. Trubia is a small village about fifteen minutes (by bus) from Oviedo. Trubia is where I do my volunteer work for the Red Cross. Every Wednesday I take the bus to this small town, where I help an after school program for children in the area. I help them with homework and play games with them until their parents pick them up at 7:30pm.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I have traveled very far on this journey. Since my last logbook, I have gone to Italy, Sweden, and Norway. I went to Italy to see my family. I haven't seen them since I left in September. It was so great to see them all and catch up. We spent the days walking around and eating great Italian food! After Italy I went to Sweden (Stockholm) for one day and then took an overnight bus to Oslo, Norway. I spent six days in Norway and it was by far my most favorite country I have ever visited! Norway is full of beautiful mountains and lakes. I also went on a super difficult hike in Norway. I went on a hike called the Trolltunga Hike. It was 12 hours long, 18 miles, and I had to do it while walking through 15 inches of snow on snow shoes. It was so difficult but the view was worth it! Can you guess why this place is called Trolltunga (google to check your guesses!)?
