¡Hola todos! Hello! I am Anaïs. I was born and raised in Miami, FL, a city with a life of its own, dancing with colors and flavors from so many different parts of the world. Being surrounded by so much culture inspired me to study Anthropology and Sociology when I began attending American University in Washington, D.C. I primarily studied applied and cultural anthropology and eventually focused on intercultural education. For my senior thesis, I created a proposal for introducing intercultural communication education for youth starting at age seven! I put this to the test using case studies from Spain since diversity and cultural education are new after the country ended its dictatorship in 1975.
Because of my research, and with Spanish as my first language, it felt almost natural to take the leap and experience the current culture in Spain first-hand. I am now studying in Madrid, the center of Spain. I encompass the community's unique culture of art, music, dance, and food! I am beyond excited to take you all on my journey with me, and hope to hear more about what you're passionate about and how we can find that from across the globe together!
