It was very rainy in Kathmandu this week. The monsoon season of heavy rainfall in Nepal is usually from June to August and by September it is dry, but this year the season is extending into September.
I saw monkeys at the mandirs (temples) I visited this week. I also saw a lot of cows and goats along the border between Nepal and India.
This week I got to see Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest peak! Mt. Kanchenjunga rises to 8,586 meters (28,169 feet), and it is located in the Himalayas. Kanchenjunga translates to "The Five Treasures of Snow." It's not far from the highest mountain in the world. Do you know its name?
