Lily and Meli are my two best friends and roommates while I am studying in London. They are twin sisters from Staten Island, New York and we’ve been close for years. Living with them has been an unforgettable experience, filled with laughter and shared memories.
My flatmates' full names are Liliana Djekaj and Melinda Djekaj.
We live together in a flat in Chiswick, about half an hour outside of London. It’s small but cozy for three girls. It is filled with big windows overlooking a busy street full of family homes and cafes. After a month here, we have all made this place feel like home with all our small clutter and the new souvenirs we have collected from traveling.
Their family is warm, funny and close-knit. Their dad, from Montenegro, is full of jokes and energy, while their mom, from the Czech Republic, is hardworking and kind. Growing up with both of their parents, they grew up learning two different cultures, in a home filled with good food and amazing family traditions. They also have an adorable dog named Jake.
