Hey everyone at Reach the World! My name is Andrea Machovec, and I'll be your on-the-ground explorer in London this semester! Usually, I live in Staten Island, New York, where my daily journey might involve a ride on a big orange ferry past the Statue of Liberty. But I’ve swapped that out for a trip on the famous London Underground, or "the Tube," as they call. it, to get to my school in a beautiful town called Chiswick, right near the heart of the city.
As a born New Yorker, I'm used to a city that never stops. But London is ancient, and I'm super curious about how a city can feel both brand new and hundreds of years old at the same time. My mission this semester is to see as many incredible sights as I can, and to meet new friends from all over the globe, something I could never do back home. I want to share every discovery with you—the sights, the sounds, and even the different snacks! Get your questions ready, because our London adventure starts now!
