You can also see from the pictures how different the architecture of the old and new sides of town are! Try to guess which picture is from which side. The national archives where I work used to be the national library, and if you look at the picture of the outside, you’ll see the statues of owls on top of the building. This is symbolic since according to tradition, owls are supposed to be wise guardians of wisdom and knowledge, though I always thought that was a bit silly since, in real life, owls aren’t very smart animals!
