The weather this week was pretty normal for winter in Munich. It is overall slightly warmer than two weeks earlier, when there was abnormally cold weather that reached lows of 8 degrees Fahrenheit. Brrrr! Freezing, right?
Unfortunately, I did not see any animals this week. There are not a lot of stray cats or dogs in Munich. There are some wild animals like mice or rabbits that I have seen before, but I usually only see them at night and not very often. However, you can sense the presence of animals in other ways besides directly seeing them. For example, I hear the birds singing every morning and sometimes see the pawprints of animals in the snow.
The coolest thing I saw was a frozen waterfall. I spotted this while walking around the Eibsee, a lake in the mountains, and it was the first time in my life that I had seen something like it. There are a lot of small waterfalls near the Eibsee. It must have just gotten cold enough for even running water to freeze.
