Hello! My name is Anna, and I'm a 21-year-old college senior studying in Limerick, Ireland this semester! Coming all the way from Nashville, Tennessee, I get to replace my usual "Hey, y'all!" for a traditional Irish greeting of "Dia Dhuit!"
Back home, I go to school in Birmingham, Alabama and study biology. I hope to someday use my degree to become a registered midwife, which is a health professional who helps women deliver babies. Interestingly, this practice was just legalized in the state of Alabama! While abroad in Ireland, I have the privilege of taking a nursing course taught from the Irish perspective. I am so excited to study health science from a completely new point of view! Between going to classes and studying, I also hope to travel around Ireland and explore its rich culture, history, traditions and people.
