Hello everyone!
I can't believe it, but this is my last journal entry. I have had a wonderful time writing to you all about the food, animals, traditions, and stories I have learned while I have been here! As a kid who grew up in the Midwest dreaming about travelling the world, this year has been my dream come true. When I first got to Germany, I was scared that I would be lonely because I didn't know how to speak the language. But even though it took me some time to adapt, I was still able to make lots of new friends, learn about the local culture, and have a great time working on my research project!
I hope that my adventures have been fun to watch and read about, but even more importantly, I hope that I have shown you that anyone who wants to see the world can do it! It is never too early to start doing the things we love and having our own adventures. Everyone has a story to tell, so I hope you all have a fantastic summer break, full of your own journeys and exciting tales. I can't wait to read all about them one day!
It makes me very sad to say goodbye, but goodbye is not forever in Germany! As the Germans say, Auf Wiedersehen! Or in English, until I see you again.
