Hola a todos! Hi, all! My name is Anthony Nguyen and I am from Mansfield, a small city in north Texas. I am 22 years old and just graduated from the University of Notre Dame where I studied neuroscience and behavior (how the brain works and why people feel and act the way they do). I also minored in education, schooling, and society, which taught me a lot about the importance of education and working hard in school. During college, I had the chance to study for a semester in Mexico, where I really improved my Spanish and made some amazing friends. The summer afterward, I traveled to Ecuador, where I worked in a school helping English teachers for eight weeks.
I am planning to be a doctor one day (I recently got accepted to one of my top choices for medical school!), but this year, I returned to Ecuador and am living in a city called Ibarra. I have been here for about two months now, and I've been having such a great time. I am helping English professors at a university in their classes each week. Getting to know all of the professors and students has been so much fun, and they are all so welcoming. Every day, I learn more about Ecuadorian culture and share my own culture with my students. Outside of work, I also have plenty of time to travel and explore different parts of the country. I'm so excited to share my experiences with you all!
