This week I traveled eight hours and about 200 miles to and from the ocean, as well as two miles to and from school every day.
I have probably traveled on average 100 miles every week, about 1,200 miles total. I've gone a lot of places!
Since my host mom does not have a car, I take the bus and walk. The bus rides cost about 50 cents, but because traffic is so bad, it's sometimes faster to walk.
The most interesting place I visited this week was definitely Marino Ballena National Park to see the whales!
This country is really small, but it actually takes a very long time to get from place to place. To get from San José, where I live, to either of the coasts, you have to pass through mountain ranges. The roads are usually single-laned, twisty and crowded. A distance that would take an just an hour to cover in Kansas takes up to three hours here!
