I traveled from the Netherlands (Amsterdam) to Dresden (Germany)! That is about 500 miles.
Well, on this journey, after coming from California to Germany, I've traveled as far as Budapest to the east, Athens and Naples to the south, Dublin to the west, and the Orkney Islands to the north.
I used the bus, trams, a train and a plane!
I was vacationing in the Netherlands for part of the week. The most interesting place I visited is a province (kind of like a state) called Flevoland. During the 1950s and 1960s, Dutch people started to reclaim the land from the sea. Reclaim means that they pumped out the water that was there. When the water was gone, all that was left was soil. Dutch people then added more soil to make it level, built roads and schools and churches, and called it a province! Engineers regularly maintain the dikes to keep Flevoland from being submerged once again!
