Other Travel News from this week:

I now have a couple of favorite landmarks from the places that I visited this week.

In Italy, the Pontevecchio bridge became my favorite landmark. It is absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset and at night when it is lit up. The bridge was rebuilt in the 1300s after being destroyed by a flood, and is the only bridge over the Arno River that was not destroyed by the Germans during World War II.

In France, the Eiffel Tower was one of my favorite landmarks. I especially love to see it at night when it is lit up and set to twinkle every hour or so. The Eiffel Tower was originally built in 1889 as a tribute to the 100th Anniversary of the French Revolution, and it continued to gain fame until it has now become the most popular tourist attraction in Paris and a symbol of France.
