Utqiaġvik has potable water in buildings, but the price of a gallon of water is $5.99. There were smaller bottles in the grocery store, but none of them had a price tag!

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I had this week was Jansson’s Temptation, which is a Swedish potato and anchovies that Tom, our teammate, cooked. Yum!

What music did I listen to this week?:

This week we have been very busy with sampling the air, water and permafrost. When we were not working, we were either eating, going on walks on the beach or simply resting. I haven’t found the time to listen to music lately, which is weird considering how much I love music!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

It’s very difficult to decide! We’ve been living remarkably exciting and fun activities this week! To access some of the sampling locations we had to use unusual modes of transportation (or at least unusual for me!).
