I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, which is about four hours away from Greenup, Kentucky! My favorite hobby is traveling, but I also love board games, watching movies, cooking and taking my dog on hikes. I am also a part of my university's Mock Trial program. We compete against other universities on a fictional court case. It is a whole lot of fun and helps with my political science major! I come from a large family with five siblings, one niece, four nephews and countless cousins. I am the first of my family to leave the country, so it has been awesome to share my experiences with them and encourage them to travel abroad.
I had only left the southern United States twice before I studied abroad. I have always known that I wanted to see the world, but never thought it would be a possibility. I started college at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2018 and immediately began looking at study abroad options. I kept putting it off because nothing seemed to match what I was looking for. Finally, I heard about Semester at Sea, a study abroad program that travels to 11 countries and four continents by ship over the span of four months. While we were on the ship, we would take college courses, participate in various organizations, go to the gym and just about everything else you would do on a normal college campus.
