Traveler Bio

Hi!

My name is Audrey De Paepe, and I will be sharing my journey in Barcelona, Spain with you over the next few months! Just last May I graduated from a small liberal arts school called Pomona College, near Los Angeles, California. In college, I studied neuroscience and Spanish. These studies have prepared me well for my journey to Spain, where I will be carrying out a Fulbright U.S. Student grant to studying the human brain and (of course) practice Spanish! After my adventure here in Spain, I will begin applying to medical school to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a pediatrician (a doctor who works with kids).

Even though I went to college in Los Angeles, I am originally from Tualatin, a suburb of Portland, Oregon. I was born in Tualatin and have lived there my whole life. In fact, my parents still live in the same house that we have lived in since I was a baby!

Although I had never moved before, my 4th-grade teacher inspired me to travel and learn more about the world through the stories she would tell our class. I hope I can inspire you all to think more about traveling and living abroad, just like teacher first encouraged me! By putting our heads together over these next few months, I’m also hoping we can learn a lot about the Spanish people, history, language and culture. Here’s to our adventures in Spain (and beyond)!

Hasta pronto! (See you soon!)
