The weather this week has been a sour topic for me. While romantic and better than the NYC chill, there have been nonstop rain and clouds in Florence. While it has made my hair frizzy, it is quite beautiful to observe from my warm living room or from the table of a restaurant. It has made it a little harder to roam about, but as long as I keep an umbrella on me at all times, I'll be just fine. It has actually been raining on and off since I got here, but that has not stopped the crowd of students from exploring Firenze!
The strangest animal I saw this week was one I had not believed to be common in Italy. My roommate and I were chatting when she said, "I'm sorry, but is that a lizard on the ceiling?" We didn't want to hurt it, so we attempted to make it move with a broom and tried to catch it in a cup to release it. It was quite fast and we are not used to catching lizards, so eventually we give up and he disappeared. I guess we have another roommate now!
