I stayed pretty close to home this week, since it was the first week of classes. Most of my transportation was just walking about a mile to get to campus. I did go downtown San José, but this is only about a 15 minute drive.
Within Costa Rica, I've travelled to Cartago, Manuel Antonio, Isla Tortuga, and Tamarindo. This has been about 30 hours of bus travel across the country in total, so far!
I love my walk to the university campus! It takes me about 20 minutes, but I am very familiar with the route now. If it's late at night and I need to get home, I take Uber, which is very popular and inexpensive here. I have also taken the bus a few times to get between downtown and the side of the city that I live on.
I visited the Pre-Colombian Museum of Gold and the Museum of Jade on Saturday. I learned a lot about the history of indigenous communities in Costa Rica, especially regarding their craftsmanship and daily life.
